Information we collect
Photos. Photos you take or upload of the rooms you choose to scan (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, desk, or similar). Stored on our infrastructure in association with your account. Used to compute your Tidy Score, generate personalized improvement tips, and, where applicable, compare against your prior photos for your own progress tracking. See our Terms of Service for the photo content rules you agree to when using the Service.
Account information.A randomly generated identifier created when you first launch the application or visit the website. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID and the email address on file (or Apple’s private-relay email, if you choose that option).
Usage data. We log events generated by your use of the application and website (a scan submitted, a feature opened, a tip completed, a page viewed) to measure engagement, diagnose issues, and improve the product.
Device and request context. For each request, we capture device class (phone, tablet, desktop), application or browser version, operating system version, country and city (derived from your IP address at request time; we do not store your raw IP), locale, and standard request identifiers used for support and security. If you arrive at the website from another site or via a link with attribution parameters, we capture the referring URL and any attribution parameters.
Notification permission state. When iOS prompts you to grant push-notification permission, we record whether you granted, denied, or dismissed the prompt, and the current state of your notification settings as reported by iOS. We use this solely to know whether to schedule daily-reminder notifications and to debug delivery issues. We do not use it for advertising.
Diagnostic information. Standard crash reports and performance metrics provided by your operating system or browser.
Not designed for regulated data
TidyStreak is a consumer habit-tracking application and is not designed for, audited for, or appropriate for handling regulated data or use within regulated industries. This includes, without limitation, regulations relating to personal health information, financial industry data, or any other use regulated by a government, agency, or industry body you are subject to. Our Terms of Service prohibit use of the Service for any purpose that would subject your interactions to such regulations. If you believe you have inadvertently submitted information of this kind, contact us via our contact form and we will assess the request and respond per our standard data deletion procedures.
Tracking and measurement
We measure which marketing campaign or referral source led you to install TidyStreak so we can spend our marketing budget on what works and so we can understand whether new users are getting value. We rely on a mobile-attribution provider to perform this measurement.
If you grant the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission when prompted, our attribution provider may receive the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to match your install against advertising data. If you decline the prompt, we rely on Apple’s privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework, which provides aggregate, non-identifying installation data. Regardless of your ATT choice: we never share your photos, scan history, account details, behavioral data, or message content with any advertising network, and we do not enable cross-app or cross-site profiling.
How we use your information
We use the information described above to operate the Service, score your photos with our Clutter AI, generate tips, surface streak progress, respond to support requests, and improve the product over time.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your data for any purpose outside what is described in this policy.
Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose data-protection law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract. Processing necessary to provide the Service you requested (scoring your photos, generating tips, maintaining your account).
- Legitimate interests. Processing necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service in a manner consistent with your reasonable expectations (diagnosing bugs, preventing fraud and abuse, measuring aggregate engagement). We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Consent. Where you have given us consent to process your information for a specific purpose, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation. Processing necessary to comply with applicable law.
Service providers
We engage the following categories of providers to operate TidyStreak. Each processes your information solely on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality obligations. Each provider is contractually bound to protect your information at the level described in this policy, and is not authorized to use it for its own purposes.
- Cloud infrastructure and database. Stores your photos, scan history, account record, and usage events. US-hosted.
- AI model inference.Receives the photo bytes for a single Clutter AI scoring request, returns the score and tips, and does not retain the photo. US-hosted. (See “How photos are processed” below for details.)
- Product analytics. Receives device class, browser or application version, operating system version, locale, country, city-level geolocation derived from your IP, and product-interaction events (page views, feature use, scans, notification state). Used in aggregate to measure usage, diagnose issues, and improve the product. Does not combine your data with data from other apps or websites for advertising purposes. US-hosted.
- Mobile attribution and measurement.Receives install events and post-install conversion events to measure which marketing channel or referral source led you to install TidyStreak. With your ATT permission, may receive the Identifier for Advertisers; without ATT permission, relies on Apple’s SKAdNetwork. Does not receive your photos, scan history, or message content.
- Subscription and paywall management. Receives your account identifier and the transaction state we receive from Apple (or Google Play) so the application knows whether your trial is active, your subscription is current, or your entitlement has lapsed. Card data never touches our infrastructure or this provider. Payment processing is handled entirely by the App Store.
- Email delivery. Routes contact-form replies and product communications. Receives recipient email address and message content for delivery only.
- Bot and abuse prevention. Issues anonymous browser challenge tokens on web forms (such as the contact form) to keep automated bots out. Receives request IP and browser-challenge response only; does not see your account information or photos.
- App store / payment processing. The Apple App Store (and, in the future, the Google Play Store) handles all subscription billing, payment processing, and refunds. We receive transaction state from the store but never see your card details.
How we may use submitted content
We may use the photos, scan results, and other information you submit to operate, secure, evaluate, debug, and improve the Service, including refining our Clutter AI scoring, tips, and AI features over time. We will not sell your information to third parties.
International data transfers
We are based in the United States and process information in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. These jurisdictions may have data- protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information during cross-border transfers.
Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, encrypted backups, access controls, and ongoing security review. However, no online system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
How photos are processed
When you take a photo to scan a room, the iOS app accesses your camera only at the moment you tap the shutter. We do not record continuous video and we do not access the camera in the background. When you import an existing photo from your library, iOS shows you its photo picker and we receive only the image you selected.
Each photo is transmitted over an encrypted connection to a third-party AI inference provider that powers our Clutter AI. The provider processes the image, returns the score and tips, and does not retain a copy. The original photo remains in our private storage tied to your account, accessible only to you when signed in and to authorized TidyStreak personnel for support and service-quality purposes. We do not run face detection, facial recognition, or identity analysis on your photos. We do not share your photos with any advertising network.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, either directly from the iOS app (Settings › Account › Delete account) or by requesting deletion through our contact form. Deletion purges your photos, scan history, account record, and aggregate analytics within seven days. Until you request deletion, photos and scan results associated with your account are retained for the lifetime of your account. After account deletion, we may retain limited records solely as required by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes) for the minimum period required, after which they are also deleted.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. The iOS application offers an in-app “Delete account” option (Settings › Account › Delete account) that purges your data within seven days. You can also send a request through our contact form. We respond to verifiable requests within thirty days, or sooner where required by law (including under the GDPR, the CCPA, and similar regimes). We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
See our Terms of Service for the broader legal framework around ending your account.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:
- Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to the legal-retention exceptions described above.
- Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond providing the Service you requested, so there is nothing to limit, but you have the right regardless.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will continue to honor this commitment.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to our verification of the agent’s authority and your identity.
Sign in with Apple
When you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable, Apple-provided user identifier (the canonical record we use to link your scans and account) and the email address on file with Apple. If you choose Apple’s private email-relay option at sign-in time, we receive a relay address (such as “[email protected]”) rather than your real email; any product communications we send route through that relay to you. We do not attempt to identify your real email address behind a relay, and we honor your privacy setting if you later disable email forwarding.
You can revoke TidyStreak’s access to your Apple ID at any time via iOS Settings › [your name] › Sign in with Apple › TidyStreak › Stop Using Apple ID. When we receive a revocation notification from Apple, we honor it and initiate account deletion.
Minors
TidyStreak is not directed to children. Our minimum age of use is 18. In addition, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13, consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are under 13, please do not use TidyStreak. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please reach out via our contact form and we will delete it promptly.
Our Terms of Service further restrict use of the Service to individuals aged 18 and older.
